Alrighty cast members, you've got some homework to do ;D Anyone who's taken drama classes can probably guess what's coming...
Character Analysis!
I've written a brief but in-depth character analysis that I'd like you all to fill out for each character you're playing. It shouldn't take you too much time, but I'd like you guys to be as in-depth and thoughtful as you can while filling it out! Immerse yourself in the character; learn who they are back to front, inside and out, and become a part of them. And don't be afraid to make up details! If a piece of information isn't given in the play and it's asked for here, come up with your ideas about it. And most importantly: HAVE FUN!!!
1. Character's name (full name!)
2. Approximate age
3. When do you think their birthday would be? What is their Zodiac sign and what does it say about who they are? (Use this site for help: www.zodiac-signs.net/)
4. Their appearance (Height, weight, what they wear, hairstyles, etc. DO NOT just describe them the way they are in the movie/play! Come up with something original )
5. Their history (Past, present and future) ~Remember!~ Your character had a life before the play! What happened to them? If your character survives, what do you think they'll be doing after the play happens? What happens to them during the play and why?
6. What goals does your character have? What motivates them to achieve these goals? What evidence is there in the play that they have these goals/motivation?
7. What does your character want out of life? What problems do they face? How do they face these problems?
8. What makes your character happy? Sad? Angry? Cheery?
9. Describe your character's family. What relationships do they have with each family member? (Positive/negative, close/distant, etc)
10. Describe your character's friends and enemies. How do they know each other? What happened to make them like/dislike each other? Describe their relationship.
11. If you could pick one person, regardless of age, race, gender, etc, living or dead (not just actors, people!!), to play your character, who would it be and why? How are they similar? How are they different?
12. How does your character sound when they speak? (Soft/deep/loud/pleasant, etc). Are there any unique aspects to their voice?
13. How does your character sing? (loud & obnoxious, soft and high, etc)
14. How does the way they sound reflect their personality? Their outer-selves? Their inner-selves?
15. If your character was alive today, what would their favourite modern gadget be? (Ie the iPod, sliced bread...)
Haha, okay, so maybe that was a bit longer than I intended! But I could have made it worse .
Also, when responding, please don't copy & paste this and add your answers in afterwards, it gets obnoxious and confusing. Just number your answers 1-15
Have fun!!!
Much luvs,
Your director
